Review of Poetry and Peonies by – Jennifer Hutchinson

I have recently requested to review a newly published poetry book by Deborah Carney. Poetry and Peonies is volume one of what I hope will be a long line of published works from Deborah.

Her love of peonies, nature and words comes alive on the pages of this classic-in-style writing. While marveling at the photographs, I could not help but be transported to the NYC site where Deborah herself captured these stunning and tranquil images. This would make a wonderful house warming gift or birthday present. I myself can imagine sitting in a historic home in Savannah, Ga where this piece is gracing the coffee table next to a cup of tea.

The poetry and quotations are gentle, some are words to live by, some have profounding impact.

Let me share a couple of my favorites:

Nature is painting for us day after day…
Pictures of Infinite Beauty
~John Ruskin

I will be t he gladdest thing
under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
and not pick one.
~Edna St. Vincent Millay, “Afternoon on a Hill”

If you enjoy poetry and the art of nature, I highly recommend stopping by Poetry and Peonies
This book is also being sold at Amazon.com

I thank Deborah for allowing me to review her works and mainly for brightening my day & bringing I smile to my face.
